We love a good hair tip and are always on the hunt for shortcuts to better style and hair health. With that in mind, we’ve put together five of the best weird hair hacks we’ve found for you to try out at home. If you give any of these hacks a try, drop us a message and let us know how they worked for you!

Shampoo less

While we’re not advocating never washing your hair again ever, reducing the amount you wash your hair can be good for it. Over shampooing can strip your hair of its natural oils, which may result in dry or frizzy locks. This tip is especially good for people with curly hair but it can be beneficial for most hair types. All you need to do is occasionally skip using shampoo, which contains the chemicals that strip hair oils. You can still rinse with water so your hair will stay fresh. We’d love to know your results if you give this a try!

Sleep on a silk pillow

Sleeping on a silk pillow will mean less friction and therefore prevent hair breakage and damage that can occur during the night on cotton pillows.

Always keep a toothbrush handy

Do you struggle with troublesome flyways and hair that sticks up from the rest? Tame it by spraying a toothbrush with strong hold hairspray and combing them down. We recommend using a toothbrush you’re not currently cleaning your teeth with!

Swap your towel for a t-shirt

Cut the frizz and dry your hair faster by using a cotton t-shirt instead of a towel. Towels cause a ton of friction and the cotton is kinder to hair. Just remember to squeeze or pat hair dry, rather than rubbing.

Raid the kitchen to clean your hair

If your hair is suffering from a build up of product, a great way to get it clean again is to make a paste from baking soda and water and use this to wash your hair. Rinse it with some apple cider vinegar and water and your hair will be naturally clean again.
