Do you look at other men with their smooth, straight hair and feel a flash of envy? If you’re a guy with frizzy hair, you don’t have to live with it. Hair is something a lot of men just want to tame and then leave – no fuss. We believe taming the frizz and having great hair doesn’t have to take hours of effort. So with that in mind, we’ve put together five simple tips for fighting frizz. Say goodbye to tumbleweed hair and hello to a more defined ‘do!
- Moisturise your hair
If you hair is frizzy, it’s probably prone to dryness. In order to fight the frizz and achieve better definition, try using a leave in conditioner which will help keep it moisturised and manageable. You can even use the conditioner on the days you don’t shampoo to keep things looking smooth.
- Shampoo less often
Frequent shampooing strips away the hair’s natural oils. Some people have even tried ditching the shampoo for thirty days or more and have discovered that their hair looks better for it! Instead of using shampoo every, just rinse with water or put a little conditioner in. Your hair won’t smell or look gross just by skipping the daily scrub and it will help your hair de-frizz.
- Use lukewarm water
Hot water can damage your hair and amplify frizz, but no one likes a cold shower. Lukewarm water won’t damage your hair and will help you to fight the frizz.
- Ditch the hair brush
Brushes strip the oils from your hair and also deform the natural curl pattern and shape of your locks, causing hair to frizz up. We recommend using a wide toothed comb when styling, or even better, just use your fingers. If you have really curly hair, fingers will always work best.
- Don’t rely on gel
A lot of hair styling products, such as gels and pomades, will dry your hair out if you use them a lot. Try to limit your use in order to give your hair a break and some days use a leave in conditioner to style, or simply go au naturale.
