Autumn’s that awkward in-between stage between fun in the sun with a great tan, and Christmas. While you’re waiting for the Christmas cheer to kick in, why not treat your hair to an upgrade and experiment with a brand new cut before party season? Here are four of the latest hair trends for you to try out:
- Backcombed is back!
Not all hair styles from the eighties should be left there. This look is inspired by eighties legends Brothers Beyond. Damp hair is volumised with mousse and a hair dryer, then hair should be brushed back from the face and some matte paste should be worked through for some root uplift and to give the hair a thicker look. Finally, run fingers through the top of the hair to give it some natural separation.
- The fringe returns
A messy overgrown fringe is the look you want to be seen with this autumn! To achieve an unforgettable fringe, you’ll want to use mousse and a hairdryer to add volume to your fringe. Then use a matte paste to add some texture and tame any fly-aways.
- Mixed textures
Are you the kind of man who attempts to grow his hair for a bit and then changes his mind when it gets to that awkward in-between stage and shaves it all off again? A mixed texture look could be perfect for you! The idea is to combine a longer fringe with a shorter more textured top that offers interest and styling potential.
- Wet look bowl cut
The nineties hold a lot of style inspiration. A lot of the nineties trends are currently making a comeback on the catwalks and this look is no exception. To achieve this style, you’ll need a decent fringe and some wet look hair products. Having straight hair helps with this look, but it can be achieved with wavy hair, with a little persuasion and some determined flattening down!
